Last call for county council apprenticeships

So far almost 500 people have applied for positions, with some options, like engineering, proving especially popular.

Surprisingly there have so far been fewer applications for fire fighter apprenticeships than anticipated, given the huge response to our full-time fire fighter recruitment drive at the end of last year. All of the last intake of fire fighter apprentices secured full time role with Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.
The council is also encouraging people to consider a social care apprenticeship and has extended the deadline to 3 April for these specific positions.

A spokesperson for the council said:

“We’ve had an incredible response to our recruitment campaign so far, but we’re still encouraging people to apply particularly for our fire fighter positions. We know there’s huge demand for fire fighter and these positions provide a different route into the service. We’d also love more people to consider a social care apprenticeship, these can be incredibly rewarding and provide a range of career options.”

Apply by 31 March at www.cumbria.gov.uk/apprentice

People have just 48 hours left to submit their application for a Cumbria County Council apprenticeship.
