Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service invite you to their county-wide charity car wash

Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service crews will be hosting car washes over the weekend of 13-14 November 2021 in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity.

In return for gleaming wheels, motorists can donate to The Fire Fighters Charity - a national charity which offers help to serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.

Firefighters will also be offering a tyre safety check, information on fire safety in the home and the opportunity to ask any questions about smoke alarms or fire prevention.

The car washes will be taking place on:

Saturday 13 November:

  • Kendal Rugby Club - 10:00-13:00
  • Workington Fire Station - 09:00-15:00
  • Whitehaven Fire Station - 09:00-15:00
  • Ulverston Fire Station - 09:00-15:00
  • Wigton Coop, Station Road - 09:00-13:00
  • Brampton Fire Station - 09:00-13:00
  • Alston Spar, Townfoot Garage, Station Road - 09:00-13:00
  • Penrith Fire Station - 09:00-14:00
  • Carlisle East Fire Station - 10:00-16:00
  • Maryport Fire Station - 10:00-16:00
  • Barrow Fire Station - 09:00-15:00

Sunday 14 November:

  • Barrow Fire Station - 14:00-17:00

Paul Milburn, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service’s Station Manager and Charity Liaison Lead, said:

“The Fire Fighters Charity is an excellent cause and like any other charity relies in the main on the generosity of the public, so I’m delighted to see fire stations across the county taking part in helping the charity raise vital funds.

“As well as getting their cars washed, these events will give motorists the opportunity to get potentially life-saving advice from our firefighters, so I’d urge people to get along to their local fire station if they can.”
